  Henry Glassford is a Texas based artist specializing in sculpture, collage, and publication. Born in Edinburgh, Scotland and raised in small town West Texas, he is currently residing in Austin, TX. The majority of his work relates to cityscapes, urban environments, along with a number of elements that are found within these types of environments. He takes inspiration from different forms of street culture, a main one being New York City in the 70's, a time period coinciding with the roots of hip hop. Henry uses a variety of photo, video, collage, and experiences as inspiration to create his work. He enjoys blending the organic and natural texture found in wood with urban textures and typography, such as advertising and graffiti. Henry's work touches on personal freedoms, rule breaking, self-expression, among other things.  Henry is currently in the process of receiving his BFA in studio art and sculpture from Texas State University, located in San Marcos, TX.
